Jana started Jana's Quilting in 2001 with one free hand long-arm quilt machine she purchased to begin quilting for herself in a back room of her husband's chiropractic clinic. His patients heard and started asking her to quilt for them.
Eventually, Jana had so many quilts to quilt she had to hire help and add a computerized quilting machine.
A few years later she added the fabric division to her store and then added yet another long-arm machine to help with the workload.
Jana does most of the free-hand quilting which includes the very artistic and show quilts. She has 7 employees who help her with the basic quilting, sewing, and helping customers. The shop also binds quilts as well as putting them together when customers need help.
Her T-shirt quilts, photo quilts, and memory quilts made from clothing, are a staple for the shop.
Jana uses her experience to collaborate with other quilters and to teach the many classes her shop offers. She also designs her own patterns and quilts which she sells at her shop.
She loves to meet other quilters and is always excited to see each quilt top that is brought into the store.
